Things to look for when booking hotel
1- your room is not directly under the flourescent hotel sign
2- the room is not hotter than an oven
3- the toilet lid does not attack you every time you sit. (how many times can a girl jump and yelp after feeling a tap on her back..)
4- you are not right above where the prostitutes conduct their business
das ist alles! more of the same tonight i expect

Ah! The things that are not mentioned on the hotel websites on the internet! I guess these experiences will only make you stronger ;-}
